Talking about Game 1
KC Vs HHJ
Cantoons had a perfect outing as a team today, even without their two main batsman firing which is quite threatening for other teams.
Considering they did pretty well, there should not be any change (except inclusion of a HK Dragon player, which they have to compulsorily include in atleast one game)
HHJ too had a good bowling attack & did quite well but struggled in their batting. Unless, Delport & Sanga doesn’t deliver something special for them, they’ll continue to struggle in the upcoming games.
FCG’s players to watch out for:
Dr. Smith: The explosive & the experienced carribean opener failed in the opening game which was quite an unfortunate dismissal as the ball that got the better of him should have been smoked out of the park. But, Dangerous Dwayne doesn’t disappoint again, expect him to go all guns blazing tomorrow.
Wessels: The explosive opener from Notts will be the most important player not just for his franchise but also for the crowd, he’ll absolutely love these conditions & should attack from first ball. When he gets going, he goes big.
Samit Patel: Samit is not just a single player, he definitely has 3 players in him for every department who are extremely consistent in all three formats. He’s too good to be playing these domestic leagues.
Samit is just an automatic choice whenever he plays.
Babar Hayat: Local hero of HK & Man of the Tournament Of recently concluded Everest T20 Cup. Has been in great form & fully deserves 9.5 credits of your D11 budget.
Van Der Merwe: Van Der Merwe is quite an underrated all-rounder considering how impressive he has been in all three departments.
He’s been a key player for SA, Netherlands & Somerset over the years & Jaguars will be hoping he delivers the same for them.
Batsman: Wessels, Hayat, Shah
All-rounders: Smith, Merwe/Nizakat, Samit
Bowlers: Riaz, Meekeren/Zaidi, Laughlin, Nadeem.
CGL Vs HKI
Possible change for HKI : As they have an extra overseas player, they’ll definitely swap him with Weise (most likely) either in this game or the next one.
So, Weise might make way for Talat.
FCG’s players to watch out for:
Ronchi: Enjoying the form of his life after his international retirement. Ronchi’s recent form on these tiny Hong kong grounds can absolutely hammer any bowling attack in the world.
Ryan Ten Doeschate & Akmal: T20’s Freelance All-rounder & one of the best in the business Ryan Ten Doeschate is certainly a game changer, no matter wherever he plays.
Akmal, on the other hand is coming after a highly successful National T20 Cup (Pakistan’s own version of Syed Mushtaq) where he was also the Man of the Tournament.
Delport: A pure miss & hit player but he’s definitely too good when he starts hitting sweetly. He attacked right on the first ball he faced this season of Ashar Zaidi but couldn’t time it properly to get a golden duck. But, as he’s been given the license to hit in the powerplay he can be very dangerous on his day.
Wk: Akmal/Sanga (The only difficult choice in this game)
Batsman: Delport, Ronchi, Arshad
All-rounders: Ryan Ten, Afzal/Devchich, Franklin.
Bowlers: Dernbach, Arif, Irfan, Ehsan.
