ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGLORE:
New team, new players but same story.
Will the fortunes change for RCB at their home ground?
McCullum, QDK (wk), Virat, ABD, Sarfaraz, Mandeep, Woakes, Sundar, Umesh, Khejrolia, Chahal.
*Vettori has confirmed they’ll persist with QDK, that means no place for Southee or Grandhomme for this game as well.
*As Vettori mentioned in his press conference, he is quite confident on the same five bowlers who were smashed by Narine in the last game. Expect them to retain their place.
*Both Sarfaraz & Khejrolia are the only two who can lose a place but Sarfaraz has been working on his finishing game in the nets very hard & Khejrolia, though he was expensive but he bowled well & as we mentioned in the first RCB preview, he & Navdeep Saini can be their new young stars this season.
KINGS XI PUNJAB:
The underdogs of this season with the best Indian top order are up against one of the best top 4 of this competition.
The newly wedded Finch has joined them & should be straight in the playing eleven.
Mayank, Rahul (wk), Nair, Yuvi, Finch, Stoinis, Axar, Ashwin, Tye, Mohit, Mujeeb.
*Finch is expected to replace Miller in the middle order but Ash can also decide to bench Mujeeb due to Banglore’s very small boundaries. (Which is extremely extremely unlikely.
*They’ll be tempted to try Sran considering he has a good record against VK but doesn’t fit into the side after that first win.
*Finch is expected to be slotted in the middle order & fulfill the same role of a finisher that he successfully did for Gujarat Lions.
