Well, it’s extremely difficult to read Dravid & co’s mind. They are always known for doing some unexpected things & i don’t see that changing in this series as well.
Shaw, Mayank, Gill, Iyer (C), Pant (Wk), Shankar, Axar, Krunal/Gowtham/Prasidh (any two), Chahar, Shardul
*So it was Nidahas Vijay Shankar that turned up against Lions side scoring a legendary -1 for fantasy gamers.
Still, i don’t see him losing his spot just after a bad day as he’s been a consistent performer for India-A in past.
*This game will be played at Grace Road, Leicester where India-A played their second practice game & scored a mammoth 458. Like every other English pitch & as the name suggests, it’s an absolute road.
* If India opts to play 3 spinners again then Prasidh might have to wait for another game. On the other hand, if India-A decides to go with only two spinners, Axar will definitely play & one between Krunal & Gowtham has to be benched to accommodate Prasidh.
*Even though it’s a totally flat surface, i still expect Indian spinners to do bulk of the damage against a much weaker WI-A side.
*If India-A bats first, Shaw, Mayank, Iyer all are capable of hitting huge 100-150+ scores. So, toss is an important factor for your fantasy team.
*If India-A decides to strengthen their batting, they’ll replace Gowtham with Hooda. But, as they always say On a good batting surface, you need quality bowlers not quantity of batsman.
Hemraj, Blackwood, Thomas (Wk), Mohammed (C), McCarthy/Ambris, Powell, Cornwall, Reifer, Warrican, Holder, Drakes/Thomas
*4 players from WI-A again are way too many for your fantasy team.
*One of Drakes or Holder can make way for Thomas who leakes runs but is a genuine wicket taker. Drakes though contributed with bat in the last game still is more likely to make way.
*Jason Mohammed, Jermaine Blackwood, Rahkeem Cornwall, Rovman Powell, Reifer, Warrican are only players you should be looking at if you are playing small leagues.
And even if you play grand leagues, apart from one of the quicks there’s nobody else you should be looking for. In both the cases 7-4 India-WI is the way to go.
My captain’s picks:
Axar, Shaw, Mayank, Chahar.
(In grand leagues, Gowtham should be the one you can bet on)
