Wellington Firebirds Vs Central Stags Dream11 Team & Analysis

Venue: Basin Reserve, Wellington

Pitch & Conditions:

As we have already discussed in the previous articles, Basin is a very slowish track where you have to be patient as a batsman & wait for your opportunity to hit, rather than just going from the very first ball.

Pacers with good slower ones & quality spinners have done extremely well here. And that’s why Firebirds are so difficult to beat at home, because their bowlers use these conditions really well.

Central Districts

Tom Bruce(c), Will Young, Dean Foxcroft, Blair Tickener, Ben Wheeler, Ajaz Patel, Josh Clarkson, George Worker, Bevan Small, Doug Bracewell, Seth Rance, Bayley Wiggins(wk).

Wellington Firebirds

Hamish Bennett(c), Tom Blundell(wk), Ollie Newton, Michael Bracewell, Troy Johnson, Ben Sears, Devon Conway, Malcom Nofal, Jeetan Patel, Luke Woodcock , Logan Van Beek, Rachin Ravindra

Expected 11:

Bracewell, Conway, Blundell (wk), Nofal, Johnson, Woodcock, Ravindra, Beek, Newton, Patel, Bennett (C)

*Van Beek is expected to replace Sears in the eleven.

*Neesham is unavailable & Nofal is expected to replace him.

Worker, Young, Foxcroft, Bruce (C), Clarkson, Wiggins (Wk), Bracewell, Wheeler, Patel, Rance, Tickner.

*Bracewell, after being released from the National squad, is available, along with Rance.

*As they don’t have a full time keeper available, Wiggins will debut for Stags & will replace Cleaver.

From the vault:

(This section gives you player performance insights after analysing all the white ball games between both the teams over the years at the same venue)

According to the data available, CD’s best batsman at Wellington against Firebirds is George Worker, who will also play his 100th T20 tomorrow.

While Ollie Newton has been the best performer with the ball at the venue for Firebirds & also against the same opposition.

For Stags, both Tickner & Wheeler has shared majority of the wickets & Wheeler in particular, has been exceptional here with both bat & bowl.

My Dream11 Team:

Wk: Blundell

Batsmen: Bruce, Conway, Bracewell, Foxcroft

Allrounders: Bracewell, Worker.

Bowlers: Beek, Newton, Wheeler, Tickner.

(Alternatives: Young For Bracewell, Rance for Tickner)

Captain’s Choices:

I personally, wouldn’t pick a batsman as my captain at this venue. But if you want to, Conway & Bruce should be the best picks considering their current form & past records.

Allrounders or players who can contribute in bits & pieces in both the departments will be my preference like Bracewell, Wheeler, Foxcroft & Beek.
