Venue: Kingsmead, Durban
Pitch & Conditions:
As mentioned in the last game too, Kingsmead is a slow deck with plenty of assistance to spinners. ‘Spin to win’ has been the formula that Durban & Warriors both follow on their home grounds & has been very successful for them too.
If you follow South African cricket closely, you must have noticed, rain gods have a special love affair with Durban. It rains in almost every game here, even the final of the last season was abandoned due to rain. (Including the reserve day)
Forecast for today is same as well. Chances of a full game are close to none. Will be another busy day for the ground staff & could be another washout.
With Miller & Phehlukwayo joining the Proteas squad, Wyk should be back & Maharaj should fill in for Andile with Frylinck back in place of Savage.
Wyk, Erwee, Jaarsveld, Vilas (Wk), Zondo, Frylinck, Senuran, Maharaj, Subrayen, Shezi, Cele.
Bench: Marques Ackermann
They haven’t announced the squad but I expect Rudi Second to be back for this clash who was with the Proteas as Backup for QDK.
Another player who i’m pretty sure will not be available from the last game is, Jacques Snyman who took 4 wickets in the last game & will surely be picked by many of your opponents. Therefore, I expect Second to replace Snyman in the XI today.
Along with Rudi, Ntuli can come in for Mokoena.
Gous (Wk), Keegan, Biljon, Second, McLaren, Kruger, Schalkwyk, De Lange, Leie, Budaza, Ntuli/Mokoena
My Dream11 Team:
As it will be a rain affected game, I wouldn’t suggest you to invest big, as nobody is sure how many overs can be bowled.
Batsmen: Erwee, Jaarsveld, Keegan, Biljon
(Wyk can be an excellent pick today as he’s an exceptional T20 player & if overs reduced, can play his natural his natural attacking game today. You can pick him for Erwee or wait for my update before deadline)
Allrounders: Frylinck (C), McLaren (VC), Senuran
Bowlers: Maharaj, De Lange, Ellie.
