Section 7: Finding the fantasy value:

Rashid Khan (bowling second): Will be a default captaincy choice, especially, on a slowish Sharjah wicket. Against Scotland has played only one game, and picked 2 wickets.

Captaincy suitability: Both small & grand leagues.

Mohammad Nabi (batting first): Looked brilliant in the warm up games with both bat & ball. Having a LHB dominated WI batting lineup also helped, but is definitely bowling better than what he was, in the IPL. Batting first, can expect few big hits & a wicket or two later on.

Captaincy suitability: Both small & grand leagues.

Naveen-Ul Haq (bowling first): Had a very poor CPL but bowling at the death on a wicket like Sharjah where his slower deliveries will be very effective, makes him a very good captaincy choice.

Captaincy suitability: Both small & grand leagues.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman: Picked 3 in the warmup game against SA, as he was used for an over at the death, which might not be the case in the league games.  But if Afghanistan does use him for a few overs along with Rashid or 1-2 overs at the back end of the innings, he can be a good differential captaincy choice as well.

Captaincy suitability: Mini GL & GL.

Josh Davey & Brad Wheal/Sharif (bowling first): Davey is picking wickets for fun, and majority of his wickets are coming at the death. Scotland are rotating their bowling order according to the game situation and which bowler bowls better on the day, so in GLs, try all the 3 as any bowler can pick 2-3 wickets at this venue.

Captaincy suitability: Mini GL & GL

MacLeod vs Rashid Khan:

Quite an underrated rivalry which doesn’t get enough attention than what it deserves. MacLeod is one of the better players of spin in this Scottish lineup, and nobody knows it better than Rashid Khan who has been swept all over by MacLeod in an ODI in 2018

In that Innings, MacLeod scored 49* off 31 deliveries against Rashid with a SR of 158.

Rashid got his wicket for the first time in Blast this year when he was again trying to sweep him.

So Macleod might not be a bad option to try in GLs  (definitely not in SL) if you expect the Scotland openers to fall early. Also has a century at this venue.
