Section 6: Finding the fantasy value:

Top picks:

Glenn Maxwell: Great recent form, amazing numbers against SL & with 3 left-handers in top 6, will bowl his off-spin as well. Should start with the new ball again, against Kusal, who he has dismissed a couple of times already.

Maxwell vs SL in T20Is:

Innings 4
Runs281
Average 140.5
SR224
NO2
502
1001
HS145*

Captaincy suitability: Both small & grand leagues.

David Warner (batting first): Looked good before he got out in the last game vs SA. Just like Maxwell, loves playing against SL.

The last time Warner faced SL in a T20I series, his scores were 100*(56), 60*(41) & 57*(50). Wasn’t dismissed in the entire series. Even in the current Sri-Lankan bowling lineup, he is yet to be dismissed by any bowler in T20s.

And he has never been dismissed on a carrom ball in T20s, which is important because Australia have never faced Theekshana before and if you have to play him well, it is very important to read his carrom ball:

Captaincy suitability: Mini GL & GL (Even SLs for Khatro ke Khiladis)

Mitchell Marsh: Failed in the last game and has just 33 runs in his last 3 innings, including the warmups. But has scored a lot of runs against Bangladesh & WI batting at 3. Was not required with the ball in the last game, but if Maxwell goes for runs, he’ll be the sixth bowling option ahead of Stoinis.

Captaincy suitability:Mini GL & GL. (And again, SL too for Khatro ke Khiladis)

Starc/Kane Richardson (bowling first): Starc trained with his padded knee in nets, if he misses out, Kane Richardson is likely to play and could be a very good captaincy choice bowling first. Has a habit of picking free wickets at the death, and with a bigger boundary at one side at Dubai, can use the ground dimensions very well.

Captaincy suitability: Both small & grand leagues.

Adam Zampa (bowling second):  Zampa is Australia’s one of the most underrated T20I players along with Agar, and both have been very consistent with the wickets in this format.

Zampa vs SL in T20Is:

Innings 7
Overs28
Wickets 14 (5 + 9)
SR12

Players you can try in GLs:

Pat Cummins (bowling first) (4W in 8 overs vs SL)

Dasun Shanaka (bowling first)

Marcus Stoinis (batting first)

Dushmantha Chameera (bowling first)
